snapshots: my weird experience with expired slide film

These pictures are from a beach trip in May 2010.  They're not originally like this, but the colors were out of whack so I decided to make some of them black and white/grayscale instead. The pictures may not have turned out the way we wanted them to, but boy did I have fun on this trip! Drinking, skimboarding, laughing, and talking with my friends -- those make the best memories.

*I've gotten so attached to this camera. But I have to give it back real soon. :( It's been a great run though, and I can't wait to get my own 35mm film SLR/Rangefinder! Back to 120 it is :)

snapshots: maddie the darling

I've already likened Madison (Evan's sister) to a junior version of Dora the Explorer, but I'm not quite sure she likes the comparison. I think it's only because she had full bangs and wore pink each time I saw her. Anyway, taking photographs of children is quite challenging but interesting at the same time. Because they're always moving, you never get the same picture!

I have two hands, the left and the right...

...hold them up high, so clean and bright

Evan Danganan is pure joy  personified. This kid just oozes sunshine and happiness wherever he goes.
my brother, Jet, with Evan

he found it a bit awkward to pose for photos at first

but he warmed up to the camera after a while
he is also eternally curious

snapshots: six flags magic mountain, may 2010

The X2, which I did NOT get to ride this time. Bummer.
I could feel my excitement build up as we neared the entrance gates

I never got to try this, either.

...which is, the scariest ride, ever

I wish theme parks were more popular in the Philippines

...you'd catch me there every weekend.

The sign for hamburgers. First thing I saw when we got to this area.

This is my kind of theme park. That said, I love CVS film. It's cheap, conveniently ASA 200, registers lovely colors, and did I mention it's cheap? Armed with three rolls, I went a bit shutter-happy in Six Flags with the Olympus OM-2N. Just the first part of a Six Flags picspam coming your way.
